The Georgia Department of Transportation is a registered participant in the federal work authorization program commonly known as E-verify, and uses such program to verify employment eligibility of all employees hired on or after July 1, 2007.

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 13-10-91, all contractors or subcontractors who enter into a contract with GDOT or a contractor of GDOT in connection with the physical performance of services within this state, shall register and participate in the federal work authorization program to verify information of all newly hired employees. Any employee, contractor, or subcontractor of such contractor or subcontractor shall also be required to satisfy these requirements. Upon contracting with a new subcontractor, a contractor or subcontractor shall, as a condition of any contract or subcontract entered into, provide GDOT with notice of the identity of any and all subsequent subcontractors. Such notice shall be provided within five (5) business days of entering into a contract or agreement for hire with any subcontractor. Such notice shall include an affidavit from each subsequent contractor attesting to the subcontractor's name, address, user identification number, and date of authorization to use the federal work authorization program.
For a bid/proposal/submittal to be considered, such certification shall be included in the contractor response to all solicitations issued by the Georgia Department of Transportation.

As required by the Georgia Administrative Procedure Act, specifically O.C.G.A. § 50-13-4(a)(l), notice is hereby given to all interested individuals, partnerships, corporations, associations, governmental subdivisions, and public and private organizations of the intention of the Georgia Department of Transpo1tation, an agency of the State of Georgia, to change the official compilation of Rules and Regulations of the State of Georgia (" Rules") by amending Rule Chapter 672-9-.03, Airport: Licensing Minimum Standards and Rule Chapter 672-12, Grant Programs.
This is to provide notice that the Georgia Department of Transportation intends adopt new Rules 672-20-.01, 672-20-.02, 672-20-.03, 672-20-.04, 672-20-.05, and 672-20-.06 regarding Permitting Automated Traffic Enforcement Safety Devices In School Zones.
