Joint Agency Data Acquisition and Management Program​



Program Overview

In 2021, the Georgia Department of Transportation and Atlanta Re​gional Commission officially launched a collaborative effort to identify, specify, manage, and purchase large datasets and analytics platforms.​

To ensure appropriate collaboration, the Program consists of representatives selected by a range of administrators from key GDOT divisions and ARC. As of January 2022, those members include the GDOT Offices of Planning, Program Delivery, Transportation Data, and Traffic Operations as well as the ARC teams of Modeling, Performance Analysis and Monitoring, and Regional Planning. ​​

Program Member Responsibilities

The members of the p​rogram are responsible for the following:

  1. Developing, maintaining, and updating an interagency program charter
  2. Developing, maintaining, and updating guidelines and/or policy recommendations for data acquisitions that include but are not limited to the following:
    1. Licensing requirements for personnel, interagency, and consultant usage
    2. Data use and publishing permissions
    3. Interagency gap analyses and best value assessments
  3. Developing and updating an annual budget​
