District Five
District Five is comprised of 24 counties in Southeast Georgia. This diverse area encompasses the entire coastal region which includes Savannah, Brunswick and the Golden Isles; and extends across to Waycross and up to McRae, Vidalia, and Statesboro. We are home to the Georgia Ports Authority, Kings Bay Naval Base, the Plant Hatch nuclear facility and the Okefenokee Swamp.

New Baxley Area Engineer Selected
Baxley Area Engineer Anthony Cook
Anthony Cook has been selected as the new Georgia DOT Area Engineer, responsible for overseeing the construction and maintenance of all state routes in Appling, Jeff Davis, Montgomery, Telfair and Wheeler counties.
Cook began his career at DOT in 1989 as an equipment operator in maintenance. He transferred into construction in 1991 and served in the Baxley Area office as a project manager then moved up to District Earthworks Coordinator. Cook became the District Estimator and then promoted to District Estimator Liaison.
